Dasch

Formed while graduate students at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Dasch has been praised by Classical Voice of North Carolina as “breathtaking,” “effervescent” and “relentless.” Dasch maintains a busy performance schedule throughout the state, and has had successes in both local and national competitions. Most recently, they were the winners of both the North American Saxophone Alliance Quartet Competition and the North Carolina Music Teachers Association chamber music competition and were first prize recipients in the international Enkor Chamber Music Competition. The members originate from the United States, England and Hong Kong, and their musical selection is just as diverse. Dasch feels equally at home on classical stages as they do at alternative and contemporary music venues.

Currently, they are finishing recording their debut album, featuring transcriptions of Dvorak, Smetana and Puccini. Their CD "Necessary Edges" is due for realease in May 2015.

Dasch is also involved in commissioning new music, and are collaborating with composers, Nick Rich and Daniel Grantham, as well as being part of a consortium project, commissioning a new work by Joel Love.
